Sponge Cakes

Our cakes are simply the perfect accompaniment for any event, occasion or just a yummy treat. With lots of classic flavours to choose from they are all handmade in small batches, in order to produce the most light and fluffy sponges to perfection.

All cakes are two tiers of homemade sponge, containing a mixture of your favourite flavoured butter cream and locally sourced jams and curds. All finished by hand with either icing sugar, an iced top and piped edge or a generous covering or butter cream. Most cakes come as an 8″ round (unless stated) and can serve up to 12 portions. All cakes can be made on a larger scale on request.

All orders must be made at least 48 hours in advance – yes perfection only takes that long.

A vanilla buttercream and locally sourced strawberry jam filling, topped off with a generous helping of icing sugar. A sponge cake classic.

A delicious local zesty lemon curd and buttercream filling, topped with sweet lemon icing. Delightfully light.

Filled with a sweet coffee flavoured buttercream and topped with coffee icing – you can’t help but want another slice.

Filled with a rich chocolate buttercream and topped with chocolate icing. Deliciously decadent and great for the chocoholic in all of us.

Fresh grated carrot, cinnamon and mixed spices finished with a mouth watering orange cream cheese centre and frosting help make this amazing cake.

Red Velvet
With a deep rich red colour, this cake has a unique taste and texture with a combination of vanilla, cocoa and coffee. With a vanilla buttercream centre and frosting, topped with a red velvet crumb – this cake is a show stopper.

Coconut Marshmallow Delight
A light sponge with coconut milk and desiccated coconut, with a vanilla buttercream centre and a marshmallow meringue frosting. Topped with a generous sprinkling of desiccated coconut.

A three tier sponge cake with layers of butterscotch frosting in the centre and to decorate, with grated Caramac on top.

Bakewell Cake
This cake has a beautiful almond taste from ground almonds and almond extract, mixed with bursts of cherries and topped with toasted almond and a dusting of icing sugar. Comes as a 7” round cake.

Lemon Drizzle Cake
A light and zesty lemon sponge topped with a lemon sugar drizzle (or can be iced with lemon glace icing on request). Comes as a 9” square and can cut into 12 portions.

Ginger Cake
A soft and moist sponge flavoured with ginger and mixed spices (or can be iced with a glace icing and crystalised ginger pieces on request). Comes as a 9” square and can cut into 12 portions.
